@nda211 You compare apples (2D codes, bar-codes) to oranges (some form of an URI).
February 11th, 2012 @ 1:57 am
No more 2D codes, Bye Bye 2D Codes.
A new addressing technology called the Keyword Identifier(developed by Oyokey Inc.) performs better than any 2D code. It gives customers, users a better experience and retains, enhances a company brand without introducing any other brand and the same Keyword Identifier can work via typing, scanning or speaking. The Keyword Identifier has all the vital features of these 2D codes and much much more. Check out Keyword Identifier at Blogspot.

Hello all, it is also beneficial to know who is scanning the QR barcode that is on your business card. To this end, a program at barcodeconnections. com allows you to track:
1. How many people scan your QR code. (Total number and unique scans)
2. Where people scan your barcode. (The geographic location)
3. When people scan your barcode. (Hour by hour, in realtime)
We’ve found it has been very useful for folks, and we encourage you to check Barcode Connections out.

@karenr0823 Thanks for your comment! Please try a “vCard” format as well. It depends on the software decoder which format works best. Awaiting your feedback!

@burnsy96 one symbol can encode theoretically up to 7,089 digits (numeric only) or 4,296 characters (alphanum) or 2,953 bytes. in practice this is usually limited to a few hundred bytes (due to available space, printing resolution, scanning distance, scanning method, etc).
